5 Networking follow up email for various persons at work in 2024

Networking follow up email -Networking is an important process in the professional world, where a lot of work goes into building relationships.  An important part of communication happens after your initial interaction when you send out a network follow-up email.

Networks allow you to meet people, and these new relationships can be crucial to your professional life or personal development.  Follow-up email helps you stand out from everyone else in the event, strengthens your new connection and lays the foundation for a strong business relationship.  The faster you send a network follow-up email, the higher the response rate will likely be.

I think most of us would agree that the first part of communication – meeting people – is not the hardest part.  (And if this sentence affected you, see our guide to communicating with introverts, and try one of these great questions that make small talk easier.) However, maintaining these connections is much more difficult.  After all, if you don’t have a straightforward reason to stay in touch with someone – you only think it would be “nice to keep in touch”, then it’s hard to justify sending a follow-up email.

How do you write a follow up email after networking?

Timing is of the essence when writing a follow-up email to a contact you met at a communication event.  By following, you strengthen your relationship with this person.  Follow-up also gives you an opportunity to ask a specific question, or even arrange a one-on-one appointment.

It’s best to follow up within 24 hours of the meeting.  Express your appreciation for their time and include details about the conversation you had.

With the advent of digital gadgets that allow us to do many of our daily tasks from home, it is easy to forget how dependent we are on others.  But if you want to achieve anything meaningful in life, you cannot do it alone.

This is why networks matter.  When you communicate with other people in an authentic and authentic way, it opens up all kinds of opportunities for you.  Whether you are looking for a better job or a more connected and fulfilling life, communication is the way.

How do you follow up with someone?

In the age of the Internet, most networks begin with email messages.  But they don’t teach you how to write networking emails at school, so it can be difficult to know where to start.

Below, I’ll show you how to write network emails that your recipient will read and respond to.  I’ll also introduce you to some network email templates that you can use in various situations.

If you want to ask for feedback

If you are having difficulty with your business or have a potential new idea, you may want to seek feedback from experts and people who have gone through the same process.  Have you met someone like this at a networking event?  This follow-up form may help.

Subject: Thanks for your time, [name]

  Hey [Name],

I know you have a busy schedule, so I’ll be brief.

We met at [event name] on [event date].  I know you are an expert when it comes to [topic], so I was wondering if you could take a few minutes to share your thoughts with me.  I’m working on something similar at [company name].

I appreciate in advance any advice you could give me.  I look forward to hearing from you.

  Warm greetings,

  [Name]

  [Company]

  [Telephone number]

A reminder that you are waiting for a response

This may be the most common situation you find yourself in when dealing with unresponsive clients.  You’re in the middle of some kind of project, and you can’t move forward until a customer answers a key question or introduces a specific resource.  However, it was met with wireless silence.

Immediate follow-up in this situation is in the best interest of both you and your customer.  After all, you both want the project to go on smoothly and to avoid wasting time.  As with the previous scenario, it’s very likely that the customer has seen your email, but either forgot about it or flagged it for later handling.

This follow-up email can be sent anywhere from a few days to a week after the previous call, depending on the urgency of the project:

  Hey [Client name],

I wanted to follow up and see if you had a chance to review my previous email.  As I mentioned, [re-ask the question briefly or remind them what you need].

Once we have your answer, we will be able to proceed immediately to the next stage of the project.  Please let me know if I can provide any further clarification on what we need!

Touching the base after a period of inactivity

The previous follow-up message was about staying in touch with your client and trying to come up with successive projects one by one.  This email template is all about reconnecting the customer after a longer period of time.

At this point, we should not assume that the client remembers exactly who we are or what kind of projects we have completed together in the past.  While some familiarity is there, you first need to revive it, so to speak.

  Hey [Client name],

I took a note in my calendar to call you now.  Just to remind you, the last project we did together was [PROJECT].

I wanted to reach out to the base and check if there are some opportunities to work together again.  Has anything changed about your [Business Objective]?

Looking at what we’ve done together in the past, I think we can take similar steps by working on [IDEA1, IDEA2, IDEA3].

If you’d like more details on how exactly this works, just let me know and I’ll send a more in-depth suggestion and break things down step by step.
