FG Approves stipend 75,000 Stipend For Undergraduates and NCE Students

FG has approved the sum of ₦75,000 stipend to be paid per semester to education students in public tertiary institutions and ₦50,000 to Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) students.

As Nigeria Teachers celebrate world teachers day today, the Federal Government has approved the sum of ₦75,000 to be paid as a stipend to undergraduate students studying an education-related course in Nigeria and N50,000 to NCE students.

This information was made know to the public by the Minister of Education during the World Teachers’ Day Celebration 2021 at the Eagle Square. Abuja.

According to Malam Adamu: “Undergraduate B.Ed / B.A. Ed / BSc. Ed students in public institutions will receive stipends of ₦75,000.00 per semester, while NCE students will receive stipends of ₦50,000.00 per semester.”

Adamu, whose speech was read by Arc. Sonny Echono, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, said his ministry would work with state governments to ensure that students are automatically employed upon graduation.

Also, as part of the government’s deliberate effort to attract the best brains into the teaching profession, Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) students will receive ₦50,000 as a stipend per semester, as promised by President Muhammadu Buhari last year.
