Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Restaurant General Manager
Leading daily operations by arranging, directing, and developing the restaurant team members.
- Manage profit & loss, by complying with cash control/security processes, monitoring inventory, managing labor, analyzing financial reports, and taking necessary actions.
- Interviews and recruits team members, carries out performance appraisals, takes necessary disciplinary action, motivates and trains team members.
- Authorized to hire or fire team members (or actively participate in those decisions) with approval/partnership from Human Resources.
- Enforces adherence to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, and also the company safety and security policies.
- Makes sure that the restaurant complies with the preventative maintenance program as regards to facility, equipment, and grounds maintenance.
- Making sure there’s a safe working environment and great customer experience by promoting safe working behaviors of the team.
- Promoting fast, accurate service, positive guest relations, and makes sure products are consistent with company quality standards.
- Confirms food quality and 100% customer satisfaction.
