  • Scan items being purchased using a handheld scanner by placing it over the Universal Product Code 
  • Enter price data into POS system or manually through terminal keyboard; place items in bags and provide total purchase cost. 
  • Process cash transactions by exchanging money from register drawer for cash given by customer; counting out change according to amount due;
  • Returning change to register drawer or giving it directly back to the customer; receipt printing process; transaction reconciliation process.
