As the name implies, Burnout involves the rapid spinning of your car wheels, leading to a huge amount of smoke and the unmistakable smell of burnt rubber.

The car remains in one position until you release the clutch forcing the car to move.

If you’ve never witnessed Burnout, you’re missing a lot. Burnout is such a cool feature, and this article will teach you how to do a burnout.

Safety Precaution

While attempting a burnout can be fun, it is still a dangerous stunt. Don’t attempt it in a crowded or busy area.

Always carry out such stunts in a controlled environment under the supervision of professional drivers. Always remember to drive safely and responsibly.

How to do a Burnout in a Manual Car

First of all, ensure the car is suitable for Burnout. It is common knowledge that not all cars are suitable for it.

A car with a very high horsepower should be considered when trying to do a burnout. To perform a successful burnout in a manual car, you must follow these rules;

  • Turn on the ignition. This means starting the car.
  • Put the car in first gear
  • Remember to turn the parking brakes off. Leaving them on could cause untold damage to the car.
  • Also remember to turn off the stability control systems
  • Step on the clutch pedal with your left foot and press down.
  • Now press on the accelerator (gas pedal) with your other foot simultaneously with the clutch pedal and rev the engine up to 4000 RPMs (avoid getting to the red line).
  • Quickly take your left foot off the clutch and apply them to the brakes while feathering the accelerator; the tires should start spinning, resulting in the burnout smoke and that unmistakable smell of burnt rubber resulting from the friction between the tires and the road.

If you plan to stop the Burnout, ease your foot off the accelerator and take your foot off the brakes. It is such a liberating thing to do!

  • Turn on the ignition of the car.
  • Put the gear on the drive
  • Like the manual transmission, turn off all stability control systems and parking brakes.
  • Depress the brake pedal with your left foot.
  • Hit the accelerator (gas pedal) with your right foot.
  • Gently tap the brake with your left foot until the tires start to spin.

Remember, burnouts cause untold damage to your expensive tires but if you don’t mind the cost, by all means, enjoy the Burnout.

This is how to do a burnout in both a manual and an automatic car.

There are quite a certain number of stunts to try out if you have the stomach for it. They include the peel-out, the donut, et cetera.

As we stated at the beginning of the article, these stunts can be extremely dangerous; therefore, they must be carried out in the presence of experienced professionals.

How to do a Peel-Out

A peel-out is relatively easier and less risky but still a dangerous stunt. Press the clutch with your left foot while the car is in gear.

Rev the engine with your right foot and release the clutch to peel out. It’s such a fun stunt to attempt. Always remember to drive safely.

Disadvantages of doing a Burnout

It is mostly a terrible idea besides the fleeting moment of satisfaction when attempting a burnout. Some of the disadvantages include the following;

  • They are mostly illegal
  • They cause significant damage to your tires and your engines.
  • Burnouts leave skid marks on the road.
  • They can be dangerous if not done properly.
