Description

  • Coordinate and manage the process of planning, building, testing and deploying MTNN IS hardware, application and software and version control and storage of software and releases.
  • Keep a record of releases per Service or System and maintain a list.
  • Ensure release management process governs the provision of standard architecture for all new and changed applications. DEV, UAT, PROD, DR
  • Coordinate, convenes, and facilitates Release Management meetings and maintains a schedule of approved and tentative releases.
  • Verify the completeness and timeliness of Release information entered into the system and follows up on non-compliant release to the process.
  • Coordinate and monitor the effective deployment of MTNN IS patch management process to guide against viral attack and escalate all recorded patch policy breaches by Infrastructure or Managed Service Partner team.
  • Refine processes that identify, control, maintain and verify all changes and releases in controlled environments.
  • Identify improvement areas in the project delivery cycle and implement lessons learned following project closure.
  • Utilization of applicable checklist, mapping release type to project delivery type and ensuring predefined release criteria for identified delivery type.
  • Risk evaluation and mitigation for all releases, converting all pre-identified risk to Problem tickets should they remain open by planned deployment date.
  • Ensure adherence to and alignment with change management process as a CAB member providing adequate input for planned unapproved releases.
  • Partake in MTNN IT Vendor & partner Evaluation processes, jointly with Vendor Management.
  • Participate in post-implementation reviews for all products and services, maintaining an updated tracker for all identified issues while ensuring prompt resolution within agreed SLAs.
  • Produce ad hoc resource usage reports and analysis.
  • Create monthly, quarterly release schedule calendars and ensure compliance to proposed go-live dates.
  • Evaluate, prioritize multiple clients’ needs internal and external of the business.
  • Provision of post-production Early Life Support program for all class A applications and services with adequate operations handover ceremonies to ensure proper handshake between delivery and operations
  • Management of the IT release and deployment pipeline by implementing new-age code deployment practices and governance processes across DEV, SIT, UAT, PRE PROD and PROD environments, adequately tracking build and release versions through the source code management platform.
  • Application of agile transition structures and processes for all IT Agile deliveries.
  • Develop and evolve release and deployment management processes to align with DevOps practices and guidelines.
  • Maintenance and management of the DML.
  • Ensure service and infrastructure CI decommissioning as output of IT release management phase.
  • Timely publishing of case study articles in the KMDB.
  • Keep abreast of business process changes and communicate these to all stakeholders
  • Engage teams for improvement areas and follow-up with implementation of improvements to improve service and process performance
  • Service Improvement initiative to senior management and the business
  • Be an active and visible advocate of Release and Service improvement management.
  • Manage measurement systems to track adoption, utilization, and proficiency of IT Releases.
  • Create and enable reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of success.
  • Evaluate, prioritize multiple clients’ needs internal and external of the business.
  • Work with communication, training, HR, and OD specialists in the formulation of particular plans and activities to support project implementation
  • Work with project teams to integrate Release management activities into the overall project and demand management plan.
  • Keep abreast of business process changes and communicate these to all stakeholders

Requirements
Education:

  • First Degree in Computer Science or an IT equivalent Degree
  • Practitioner Certificate in ITIL – IT Service Transition or equivalent certification

Experience:

  • 3-7 years’ experience in area of specialisation with experience working with people
  • Min 1-year Release and deployment Management Experience
  • Experience IT Service Support and Delivery Experience
  • Experience in a medium organisation
  • Project management Experience
  • Experience working with a range of service providers
  • Understanding of service delivery and service support environments.
