Role Summary

  • The properties organization for the Gas Power businesses (including Gas, Services, and HQ) provides innovative solutions for the company’s property needs globally.
  • This is delivered through strategic real estate solutions, operations property management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Extracting maximum value from the portfolio and generating solutions for the respective GE businesses requires ongoing innovation: optimum location, optimized efficiency, maximized utilization, and effective workplace solutions.
  • The Gas Power properties team translates the needs and requirements of the businesses into value adding, comprehensive solutions. This role is responsible for supporting the business as needed to meet their respective goals and objectives.
  • The Senior Property Manager would be required to exhibit strong project management skills and would be responsible for stakeholder interface in the delivery of the Power businesses roof top strategies, projects and services.
  • The candidate would be required to focus on the Gas Power business with the long term objective of ensuring that all solutions are viewed throughout the entire GE business portfolio.
  • The candidate will work with rooftop teams across a matrixed organization for strategic, project and program recommendations and execution.
  • The Senior Property Manager will be instrumental in driving process improvement and efficiency gains within real estate processes and support for the business.
  • This position will require a motivated and technically educated individual with strong interpersonal skills to embrace the business needs of Power globally and throughout all functions within the business.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Leads and is accountable for operational excellence of identified rooftop synergies across Gas Power, including project reviews, cost benefit analysis, feasibility studies, and project execution and tracking.
  • Proactively identify and lead efforts to add value to the business through property focused strategies and initiatives.
  • Aligns with Gas Power business support teams and ensures support on recommended strategies and projects across the business.
  • Reach out to industry experts and arrange overviews with business operations and support teams within the Gas Power industrial and office portfolio.
  • Drive effective working relationships with relevant business and functional stakeholders to seamlessly integrate solutions within the overall strategic objectives of the business.
  • Align the requirements of the business with the services provided by real estate support organizations (i.e. CBRE).
  • Lead and support other initiatives as identified by the business including driving cross-business solutions and implementation of a facility management program.
  • Support Gas Power business commitments while aligning and executing on the roof top strategies within the business.
  • Exemplify an organizational culture shift from a tactical rooftop execution to strategic thinking, long term planning and execution. Exhibited rooftop workplace solutions, both office and manufacturing, portfolio optimization, and expanding GE’s Integrated Facility Management program.
  • Identify office and manufacturing best practices used in real estate optimization and facility management both internal and external to GE.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, properties, real estate and sourcing activities and/or initiatives
  • Proven ability to build/maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, work collaboratively horizontally across GE including listening and problem-solving around complex strategies and initiatives
  • Willingness and ability to travel ~20% of the time

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance thought leadership, continuous learning and improvement with demonstrated results.
  • Prior work experience in MENAT & SSA region
  • Ability to present ideas effectively and concisely, both written and verbal, to team members, senior leaders, suppliers, and customers
  • Skilled communicator capable of listening to different perspectives and incorporating them into a balanced approach that optimizes the outcome.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive significant change
  • Strong customer-orientation and focus
  • Prior experience with global supply chain processes and customer fulfillment
  • Prior experience working with global team and markets
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills. Ability to manage complex programs and projects
  • Six Sigma and Lean training are preferred
  • Fluency in Arabic and/or French.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize customer and company results
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in multiple matrixed and cross-functional teams
  • Strong business, commercial, and financial acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead large cross-functional teams
