Call For Applications: YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa Program 2024 (Cohorts 55 & 56)
The YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa is seeking applications from young men and women aged 18 to 35 from various East African countries who are passionate about leadership and committed to transforming their communities. Here’s what you need to know:
Objective: The program offers a 4-week residential leadership training focusing on individual and team leadership skills, innovation, creative learning, and communication. Participants will engage in interactive and experiential learning to enhance their leadership abilities.

Program Tracks: Participants will undergo leadership training in three tracks:
- Business and Entrepreneurship
- Civic Leadership
- Public Management
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age between 18 and 35 at the time of application submission.
- Citizenship and residency in one of the following countries: Burundi, Central African Republic, Congo, DRC, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, or Uganda.
- Not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Eligible to receive a visa to Kenya.
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
Selected Criteria:
- Demonstrated leadership in public service, business and entrepreneurship, or civic engagement.
- Active engagement in public or community service, volunteerism, or mentorship.
- Ability to work cooperatively in diverse groups.
- Strong social and communication skills.
- Energetic, positive attitude.
- Knowledge, interest, and professional experience in the selected sector/track.
- Commitment to apply leadership skills and training for the benefit of their country/community.
