Nissan Origination

The brand Nissan came into the market for the first time in 1911 with the name Kwaishinsha Motor Car Works by Masujiro Hashimoto.

The name DAT is named from the surnames of the three individuals who invested in the company. Later on, the company made numerous changes to its brand name before Nissan Motor Company was made the official brand name in 1934.

In 1931, Japan Industries also called Nihon Sangyo partnered with Nissan to enhance the production of Nissan manufacturing plants. Furthermore, Nissan manufactured vehicles and aircraft for the Japanese army for a couple of years.

Over the years, Nissan has made partnerships with different car manufacturing brands like Austin Motor Company in the 1950s and 1960s to help produce vehicles for them.

After the Korean War in 1953, the birth of a new union came to life and greatly made an impact on the technological aspects of the company.

For the first time, Nissan became popular all over the world in the late 1950s. Its first automobile promotion took place in 1958 in Los Angeles Auto Show. Today Nissan is present globally, with China as the highest consumer of Nissan vehicles.

The highest shareholder of Nissan at the moment is Renault SA having over 43.4% followed by Daimler AG with 3.32%. Nissan also has a share in Renault and Daimler. 15% from Renault and 1.54% from Daimler. Due to the fact that Renault holds the largest share of Nissan, it has earned the position as the chief administrator of Nissan.

Nissan-Renault Alliance

The Nissan Renault alliance is best described as a humungous step in the automobile industry. It is described as huge because a Japanese automobile company (Nissan) and a French one (Renault) formed an alliance to enhance and promote their automobile company.

In 1999 Nissan Motor Company passed through some major financial crisis and to elevate from it they made a move and allied with the French automobile company Renault. In June 2001 an executive from Renault named Carlos Ghosn the CEO of Nissan, this led to a major turnaround for the Nissan company when he introduced the Nissan Revival Plan (NRP). A few years after he became CEO of Nissan, Renault also installed him as the CEO and president of the company in May 2005.
