The College started as a school of Health Technology in 1977 with the sole aim of training middle cadre health personnel for the implemention of Primary Health Care Policies in the rural areas. It was then situated at ECWA Evangel Hospital in Jos, now known as Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Jos.
