Tasks

  • To provide all-inclusive technical assurance and support, ensuring that the technical integrity of rotating equipment asset in Utilities, LHU, LPG and S&L areas is adequately safeguarded.
  • To develop, enforce and optimise maintenance and operating strategies / standards especially on the Gas Turbines Generators to improve rotating equipment reliability and availability.
  • To Coach and develop future Specialist Rotating Equipment Engineers.

Main Accountabilities

  • Provide risk advice and verify the integrity and performance of the Rotating Equipment in Areas A/B/C to meet company objectives for plant integrity and availability. Recommend solutions to correct underperformance and improve reliability of rotating equipment to ensure safe and effective operations.
  • Carry out all necessary safety critical functions as identified, assigned, and defined in the bowties to ensure that the effectiveness of the control barriers and recovery measures are maintained
  • Coordinate the scope development and execution of scheduled inspections of Gas Turbines and Main Compression Trains to achieve safe and optimized outage duration without rework and under agreed premise and scope.
  • In conjunction with relevant OEMs, TA, and other sites, provide appropriate advice on all aspects of rotating equipment including, operation, maintenance, overhaul, materials, corrosion, mechanical engineering, and inspection technology. This is to ensure compliance to best engineering practices.
  • Update and harmonize the maintenance philosophies applied to the rotating equipment across Areas A/B/C. Define and maintain the rotating equipment 10-year plan, a key input into the Site Activity Plan. Liaise with rotating equipment OEMs for the troubleshooting, inspection, maintenance and spare parts procurement for all Gas Turbines, Compressors and other rotating equipment including auxiliaries in assigned area.
  • Decide min/max level for rotating equipment spares and coordinate with PAA/B/C and PMA/B/C and CPM focal points to ensure timely availability of spares to minimize expensive emergency purchases and equipment out of service periods which may have impact on the overall Business Planning and Company objective of sustainable LNG Production
  • Participate in the investigation of plant trips, equipment failures and root cause analysis on Rotating Equipment to find lasting solutions that prevent loss of LNG production and revenue.
  • Set-up and administer Call-off Contracts for specialist Rotating Equipment repair and overhaul services in assigned area and others as may be assigned. Assist in the administration of contracts for rotating equipment and Contractual Services Agreement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution at Second Class Lower Division (2.2) and above.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduation work experience in a petrochemical plant, 2 years of which must have been spent in a senior engineering position in rotating or mechanical equipment on an LNG plant. Candidate must be a certified TA-3 in discipline to apply for this role.
