Federal Medical Center, Asaba
Federal Medical Centre, Asaba was established in August, 1998 as a result of the policy of the Federal Government to provide a Federal Medical Centre in any state of the country where there is no Federal Teaching Hospital. Remarkably, the new Federal Medical Centre, Asaba took off with a mere change of name and ownership from the old General Hospital, Asaba.
The new hospital commenced services with dilapidated structures and meagre equipment inherited from the General Hospital and a poorly trained workforce acquired from the State Government. It is, however, worthy of note that despite these challenges, Federal Medical Centre, Asaba has grown in leaps and bounds and is today ranked as one of the foremost Federal Tertiary Health Institutions in Nigeria.

Qualifications
- MBBS Degree and pass in primary fellowship exam of a recognized Postgraduate Medical College with evidence of completion of one year Housemanship and NYSC.
- Candidates are to have current practicing licence from Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
