WACOT Rice Limited, a company under Tropical General Investments Group, is a rice processing company which operates a state-of-the-art rice mill in Argungu, Kebbi State, Nigeria. The mill is one of the largest rice mills in Africa and sources paddy from various paddy producing states across Nigeria. WACOT Rice also engages in out-grower farming programs with paddy farmers to boost their yields and guarantees off-take of paddy from farmers through buyback arrangements. The rice mill is based on a robust sustainability platform and the company produces two leading brands of parboiled rice – BIG BULL and PATRIOT.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Assistant Manager (Accounts)

Location: Kebbi
Employment Type: Full Time
Reports to: AGM Treasury/Financial Controller (WRL)
Internally Relates with: Sales, Warehouses, Admin, Procurement, Engineering and Production
Externally Relates with: Businesses within the TGI Group

Objective / Purpose of Job

  • Monitoring and controlling all international transactions

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and recording all approved Capex (ORP).
  • Recording overseas order to vendor against the ORP.
  • Monitoring and controlling all the payment to the overseas vendor through Vink or directly as per Vendor PFI and ORP.
  • Monitoring and recording all back-to-back PFI of Vink Corp. on WACOT Rice Limited Argungu against ORP and Vendor order.
  • Monitoring M form and LC details.
  • CBN bidding details & successful bidding.
  • Imports coordination for WACOT Rice Limited Factory.
  • Payment against LC and balance.
  • Require to provide details of LC charges and interest cost on LC payment.
  • Require to provide all customs duty details against the machinery/spares immediately along with the file number generated.
  • Require to provide all the clearing charges details against the machinery/spares immediately along with the file number generated.
  • Require to provide all the clearing charges details against the machinery/spares immediately along with the file number generated.
  • Also needs to be provided commercial invoice, packing List, bill of lading, marine insurance certificate etc.
  • Any other activity related to bank/treasury.

Education / Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience & Other Requirements

  • B.Sc / HND in Accounting.
  • Any additional qualification is an added advantage.
  • Any additional qualification is an added advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsible to motivate others and to manage teams and project.
  • High level of attention to details.
  • Knowledge and use of SAP is a must.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years working experience in any food processing company.

  • 0% – 20%.
