Waste-Point Limited, a forward-thinking company operating in Nigeria was registered in 2003 and commenced operations in 2008 to provide long-term solution to the waste management challenges facing Nigeria and African continent. From a fleet of 5 modern waste disposal trucks in 2008 and 17 staff, waste-Point now has 33 modern waste management trucks and ejector trailer and 180 staffs across Nigeria to collaborate with government at all levels in providing prompt and efficient waste management services.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Epe, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Preparing financial statements, examining and analyzing a company’s accounts and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures

Job Description

  • Producing an accurate set of month-end accounts, with comparisons to forecasts and previous periods
  • Chasing late payments, reporting bad debts and keeping a careful eye on the cash flow.
  • Preparing profit and loss accounts and the balance sheet for senior management
  • Assisting in preparing budgets and business planning, including projected room revenue
  • Handle account reconciliations, verify payment documentation, reference outstanding bills, update debt balance, and conduct disbursement.
  • Ensuring legislation is followed regarding VAT and PAYE
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the GMD/CEO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Business Accounting, or Finance.
  • At least 3 years of work experience.
  • Should be staying in or around the Epe Lagos.
  • Must Know Microfinance Mode of accounting techniques.
  • Must be Skillful in account/bookkeeping.
  • Personal integrity; ability to keep customer and company confidence.
  • Expert or above average proficiency in MS Excel application.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
  • Strong command of details and deadlines.
