At Innovest Afrika, our mission is clear: to catalyze the growth of 5000 African-founded startups by the year 2030. We’re dedicated to supporting founders of African descent who are driving impactful innovations worldwide. Through our Innovest Ignite Accelerator Program, we offer comprehensive resources, mentorship, and funding to early-stage tech startups with the potential to scale rapidly.

About Innovest Ignite

Innovest Ignite is a six-week remote accelerator program tailored for African-founded early-stage tech startups poised for rapid growth. We welcome startups from all industries and business models to apply. In collaboration with Techpoint Africa, our Innovest Ignite Lagos accelerator is designed to empower Nigerian startup founders by providing them with mentorship, global networks, and funding opportunities.

What We Offer:

  • Industry-leading mentors, industry experts, and successful founders dedicated to adding value to our cohort.
  • Access to a global network of founders, mentors, and investors.
  • Seed funding of up to $20,000 for the top quartile of the cohort in exchange for 2% equity.
  • One-on-one mentorship sessions with seasoned industry experts.
  • Subsidies from strategic partners for legal, financial, and technological needs.
  • Post-program support, including introductions to investors, business development assistance, and hiring support.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Based in and building for Nigeria as the primary market.
  • Co-founder or team collaboration.
  • Startups across all industries and business models.
  • Early-stage with MVP, product-market fit, or traction.
  • Founders who value feedback, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Program Details:

  • Applications close on February 14, 2024, at midnight (GMT+1).
  • The accelerator program is fully virtual and begins one week after the application deadline.
  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged.
  • The program includes facilitator-led sessions, mentoring, workshops, investor prep, and panel discussions.
  • The program concludes with a physical Demo Day event in Lagos, Nigeria, where founders pitch to investors.
