I’ve been working from home for over a year now and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
There are many benefits to working from home, including the ability to live wherever you want, travel, setting your schedule, not having to answer a boss, not having to put your children in full-time daycare, and more.
If you are interested in working from home, I strongly encourage you to do so.

There are a lot of legitimate homework jobs. Whether you want to find something that gives you a little extra money every month, or you are looking to offset your full-time income … there are many options.
Keep reading because I’ve listed up to 10 of my favorite home business opportunities that hit $100,000 a year.
1. Teach English online
Teaching English online is an excellent job for working from home. They are fun, flexible and the pay is great!
There are two different options if you want to teach English online:
If you have a bachelor’s degree:
- If you hold a bachelor’s degree in any field, VIPKID is a company that hires English teachers online and pays up to $22 an hour. Forbes recently ranked VIPKID # 1 in its “Top 100 Work-From-Home Companies 2017”.

2. Facebook Ads Side Hustle
Since Facebook has changed its algorithm to display less business content and more content from your family and friends, small business owners need to start running paid Facebook ads if they want to hit the 100k a year benchmark working from home.
This is something most business owners do not have the time, desire, or skills to do.
That’s why Bobby of Millennial Money Man created the Facebook Side Hustles course – to teach people how to run successful Facebook ads for small businesses.
I registered for the Facebook Side Hustles course and learned a lot.
The course didn’t launch long ago and there are many success stories of people making anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000 or more by providing this service to small business owners.

3. Flipper Market Flipper
If you love finding a bargain, flipping is a great opportunity to make money from home. “Flipping” basically means that you buy something cheap because nobody sees any value in it, and then “flips” it to make a profit.
A friend of mine, Melissa, and her husband started the flea market a few years ago. In 2016, they earned $133,00 in flea market goods, working about 20-30 hours a week.
Melissa and her husband created an online course called Flea Market Flipper that teaches you how to find hidden treasures in places like flea markets, garage sales, and auctions, and then sell them for a profit on eBay and other online platforms.
To me, that sounds like a really fun way to make money online! Flea Market Flipper is only open for registration at certain times during the year, so it is best to be on the waiting list here if you are interested in the opportunity.
Blogging is my favorite work from home job, as it is how I make a full-time income. Many people don’t even know that you can make money blogging, or they have heard of people doing this but have no idea how to do it.
I used to be the same thing – I’ve heard of people who’ve made money blogging, but I’ve lost how you do it.
Now I know, and I couldn’t imagine not blogging – love it.
Do you want to make money from blogging? If so, I have created a free 7-day e-course that will teach you how to start your blog, make it look professional, gain readership, learn how to monetize it, and more.
You might not have heard of scoping before – I had never contacted Linda Evenson from Scoop School and learned all about this amazing profession from working from home.
Scoping is the process of editing legal documents for court reporters. The scale is in great demand, and the average income is between 30 and 50 k per year, with the opportunity to earn more if you are willing to take on quick jobs.
Linda has served as a research expert for more than 35 years and started the Scope School teaching others how to start a career in this unknown field.

You may have heard of a transcriptionist before – in short, they convert the spoken word into text, and they make up to 100k a year working from home.
In the contemporary digital world, there are plenty of opportunities to work from home as a transcriptionist. Anyone from digital marketers, business analysts, social media marketers, SEO experts, content strategists, and many more can hire transcribers – anyone who needs audio or video to text.

7. Book Secretary
Bookkeeping is something every business owner needs to do, but the majority of them either don’t know how, don’t have the time, or just don’t want to do their books.
As an accountant, you can start your own business and make up to $80 an hour. One of the great benefits of this job is that it is something every business owner needs – if you are earning money, you need to keep proper records.

8. The virtual assistant
As someone who runs an online business, I know how popular the virtual assistant field is and how high-quality virtual assistants are in demand.
As a virtual assistant, your job tasks can be incredibly diverse – everything from managing email, creating graphics, managing Facebook groups, editing blog posts, managing affiliate payments … the list goes on.
This field is great to work in because you can define your schedule, choose the right major for a specific type of business or service, set your salary rate, and if you are an expert assistant, you will start getting a lot of referrals.
One of the most popular courses for learning how to become a virtual assistant is called “30 days or less for a successful virtual assistant.”
9. Freelance writer
Freelance writing was one of my first attempts to make money online. I was so excited when I got my first check of an article that I wrote while waiting for my plane to board the San Antonio airport – I felt so satisfied that I’m making money when I was usually sitting there bored.
If you enjoy writing, freelance writing can be a fun and profitable opportunity to work from home.
It can be somewhat difficult to break into the industry if you haven’t worked as a freelance writer before and if you don’t have any connections.
I recommend signing up for a course like “30 Days or Less for Freelance Writing Success” (this is the course you’ve taken) to help you start making money as a freelance writer. It might surprise you that you can make up to 100k a year from home as a writer.
10. Web designer/developer
Every business needs a website, and that means they need a web designer/developer.
If you are creative, keep an eye on details, and enjoy working on the computer, then you might enjoy working as a web designer or web developer.
I got into web design/development a few years ago with TeamTreehouse and although it wasn’t something I ended up pursuing as a career the skills I learned have become very useful (especially when it comes to blogging.)
Depending on your skill level, you can earn up to 100k a year from home as a designer or web developer.
TeamTreehouse offers a free 7-day trial so you can try it out and see if web design or development is of interest.
As you can see, there are tons of legitimate home business opportunities, and it will continue to grow. The number of people who work from home has increased by 110% in the past decade, according to CNN Money.
Working from home provides this flexibility and opportunity to increase your income a lot more than if you were working in a traditional job, among many other benefits!
