Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2024 for Student Developers

Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a globally recognized online initiative dedicated to introducing new contributors to the world of open-source software development. GSoC provides an immersive 12+ week programming experience where contributors collaborate with open-source organizations, working on diverse projects under the mentorship of experienced guides. The overarching goal is to inspire and integrate these contributors into open-source communities, fostering a continued commitment to community-driven development long after the GSoC program concludes.

Key Program Features:

  1. Contributor Journey:
    • New contributors spend their summer coding for an open-source organization, receiving invaluable guidance from mentors within their respective open-source communities.
  2. Historical Impact:
    • Since its inception in 2005, GSoC has united over 20,000 new contributors with 800+ open-source organizations and 19,000+ mentors, making it a catalyst for community growth and collaboration.
