Welcome to the third season of the FMN Prize for Innovation (PFI), a pioneering initiative geared towards fostering innovation in the food and agro-allied sector in Nigeria and beyond, with a primary focus on advancing food self-sufficiency through precision agriculture.

Project Theme: Driving Food Self-Sufficiency in Nigeria Through Precision Agriculture

The FMN Prize for Innovation seeks to inspire fresh ideas and inventive solutions that can revolutionize the food and agro-allied sector, contributing to the establishment of a sustainable food system in Nigeria.

  2. Nigerian Students (Undergraduates & Post Graduates)

Awards/Mode of Entry:

If you are a registered food or agro-allied business in Nigeria or a student passionate about the food and agro-allied industry, seize the opportunity to participate in the second edition of FMN’s Prize for Innovation.

This year’s edition focuses on:

  • Innovative ways to develop and increase the usage of local materials in the food industry to meet local demands.

Application Process for MSMEs:

  • Visit the application form.
  • Complete the form by the deadline of February 15, 2024.
  • Upload a 60-second video and a short presentation outlining your innovative techniques for driving food self-sufficiency in Nigeria through precision agriculture.
  • Clearly indicate how your idea will utilize precision agriculture to boost food production in Nigeria’s food and agro-allied sector.
  • Include proof of business registration with your entry.

Eligibility for MSMEs:

  • Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) registered in Nigeria operating in the agro-processing and food production space.
  • Your idea must address the use of precision agriculture in boosting food production, with a solid proof-of-concept, social or commercial purpose, and a clear roadmap to scale.

Application Process for Nigerian Students:

  • Visit the application form.
  • Complete the form by the deadline of February 15, 2024.
  • Upload a 60-second video on your innovative techniques for driving food self-sufficiency in Nigeria through precision agriculture.
  • Clearly indicate how your idea will facilitate the use of precision agriculture within the Nigerian food value chain.
  • Participants are encouraged to post their entries on social media – Follow and tag @FMNGroup and engage with the post.

Eligibility for Nigerian Students:

  • Nigerian Students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Your idea must address the use of precision agriculture in boosting food production, with a solid proof-of-concept and a social or commercial purpose.
