Azman University, Kano obtained its provisional license to operate as a Private University on 15th May, 2023. The University is deeply committed to realizing its dream of a world-class status where research and innovations are the order of the day. Her philosophy is strictly guided by the desire to raise problem solvers for the nation through the production of highly skilled and motivated graduates. This informed the decision of the Governing Council to recruit carefully selected and competent Management Staff with commendable pedigree and international flavor for academic disciplines to ensure that the students are given the best attention and proper guidance throughout their stay at Azman University.

Having received the necessary approval from the Federal Executive Council, Azman University Governing Council hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:
Job Title: Librarian
Location: Kano

Responsibilities
- The University Librarian is a Principal Officer answerable to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of Library matters in the University.
- He/she shall be in charge of the management and administration of the university library as well as branch libraries in faculties and centres of the University.
- He/she shall also be responsible for linkages with other Library organizations and Publishers, both national and international
Requirements
Candidate shall possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- A relevant Ph.D
- Versatility in information technology (IT) and library automation
- A good record of scholarly publications through reputable medium.
- Shall have a minimum of 10 years cognate experience and the capacity to initiate research in a University system or comparable organization
- Shall not be above the age of 60 years at the point of assumption of duty
- Membership of relevant professional association is an added advantage.

The Librarian shall hold office on such terms and conditions as may be specified in his/her instrument of appointment.

The following format should be used for preparation of Curriculum Vitae:
- Full name with surname capitalized

- Marital status
- Institutions attended with dates
- Academic qualifications (degrees with classes-copies of certificates to be enclosed)
- Teaching, research, administrative and managerial experience
- Academic distinction
- Membership of academic and professional bodies
- Scholarly publications, the link to Google Scholar, ORCID, SCOPUS and Research Gate
- Names and addresses of three (3) referees who should be able to attest to the candidate’s academic and managerial abilities as well as his/her moral character and uprightness.
