The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa. As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football. The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments.

We are currently looking for the position below to join our team:

Job Title: Head of Accounting Operations

Location: Cairo, Egypt

Job Summary

  • You believe you have the educational background and professional experience to contribute to restoring CAF’s reputation and elevate the organization to the highest international standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Timely payments of invoices as and when due.
  • Facilitate timely invoicing to sponsors.
  • Supervise and track the coordination of outstanding invoices.
  • Provide KPIs for Accounts Payable and Receivables.
  • Review and recommend improvement in payments and receivables processes.
  • Provide leadership and direction to direct reports and effectively manage stakeholders and potential conflicts of interest.

Requirements (Profile)

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Professional qualification in accounting (e.g. ESAA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA) or MBA (finance option) with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in leading Accounts payable team
  • Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in finance or accounting related areas.
  • Hands-on experience in usage of Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Demonstrable experience in vendor and staff payments and conflict management.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); fluency in another official CAF language (French or Arabic) is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Stakeholder management and Influencing skills.
  • Team Leadership skills and ability to motivate teammates.
  • Ability to engage and interact with diverse stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Providing leadership and direction to the payables and receivables team.
  • People management skills.
  • Conflict management skills.
