Working with various partners across sub-Saharan Africa, we improve livelihoods, enhance food and nutrition security, increase employment, and preserve natural resource integrity. IITA is a member of CGIAR, a global agriculture research partnership for a food secure future.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Fabrication Supervisor

Ref: IITA-P&C-NRS2023-025
Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Description

  • Supervise and make requisitions for materials needed for different projects/jobs.
  • Assist in preparing monthly chargeback of work done and supervise the fabrication workshop.
  • Assist to fabricate and install/fixing equipment like heat exchangers, dryers, and other processing equipment.
  • Design and construct any engineering project that relates to fabrication.
  • Supervise all the activities going on in the machinist workshop and spare production.
  • Ensure the turner machine and other tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc. / HND in Mechanical Engineering or any other related field with a minimum of two (2) years experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:

  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Have a good working knowledge of lathe machines, milling machines and shaping machines.
  • Have the ability to read engineering drawings in detail.
  • Have the ability to use basic Microsoft software.
