Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the Premier Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria. It was incorporated in 1950 as a non-profit making organization, Limited by Guarantee under the Companies Act of 1948. The primary objective of the Chamber is to promote, support or oppose legislative or other measures affecting trade, industry, commerce, and agriculture as well as representing the opinion of the business community on the above matters in particular, and the economy as a whole.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Business Development Executive

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Description

  • The successful candidates must be self-motivated team players with aggressive drive to increase the firm’s bottom line by driving sales.
  • Applicants must have excellent communication and negotiation skills, and must be astute problem-solvers.

Responsibilities

  • Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets;
  • Effectively communicate value proposition through proposals and presentations;
  • Retain continuous awareness of transactions, sales, terms and keep relevant records;
  • Work with the Head of Business Development to execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base;
  • Build and Enhance strong relationships with existing and potential clients by offering viable solutions;
  • Key Account Management;
  • Drive business growth across all customer segments;
  • Prepare and submit monthly and period activity/sales reports on the success of your sales endeavours.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BA / BSc / HND
  • Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience in an insurance, financial institution or an insurance broking firm
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Customer Service Intelligence
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of services and drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Passionate team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Relevant technical knowledge and practical experience of underwriting and insurance policies
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Good use of Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
