Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF)

Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF) is an innovative platform for resource mobilization. Primarily established to supplement efforts to mitigate the adverse economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on Nigerians by supporting vulnerable members of the population, strengthening the country’s healthcare system and reskilling the Nigerian workforce for a post-pandemic world.

The Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund is led by a team of Nigerians – working tirelessly to help bring a better life to all Nigerians. Together, with dedicated stakeholders, multilateral organisations, grassroots NGOs and local partner organizations, we are raising funds and initiating interventions to ensure that our children, families and vulnerable groups across Nigeria recover from the devastating impact of COVID-19.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Communications Manager

Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full-time

Summary

  • The Communications Manager will lead marketing and communication for the NSSF, managing PR and delivering marketing campaigns end-to-end.
  • S/he will shape the organization’s profile, andncommunicate the NSSF brand through fundraising-led marketing, partnerships, brand and issue related campaigns, events and other marketing activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Grow the NSSF audience – reaching set targets for engagement
  • Plan, coordinate and execute the marketing strategy for campaigns; ensuring it is truly Nigerian whilst still benchmarking against global best practice.
  • Manage all marketing activities, email, social, content, product, PR, comms, creative and project management of campaigns
  • Oversight of all creative assets from outsourced agencies and localization of global tools and assets
  • To entrench NSSF, as a national, regional, and global thought leader in delivering her three core objectives.
  • Management of marketing budget to execute paid media spanning OOH, radio, print, digital, social media and other marketing activities such as stunts
  • Negotiation and delivery of in-kind and barter deals for paid media, building key partnerships and relationships across all of the media industry
  • Recommend and implement strategic marketing partnerships that support fundraising and growth goals including working with events, influencers, and media partners.
  • Monitor the metrics of programs/campaigns, collect and analyze social and digital insights, reporting metrics internally where required.
  • Conduct market research and compile findings to inform campaign activities
  • Implement and execute Influencer strategies to increase the branding and reach of the NSSF
  • Improve touch points across the donor journey of the NSSF website in content manager.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. or HND in a related field
  • 6 years+ of Marketing and communication experience (agency, lifestyle brand, media, music industry, digital, start ups)
  • Certifications in comms related field.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in English
  • A creative at heart: Excellent oral communication and copywriting skills with an eye for design and the ability to pitch NSSF, meet new donors and partners, sell our organization, engage social influencers etc.
  • Proven knowledge and expertise in paid marketing strategies, social ads and influencer marketing strategies that drive growth and engagement
  • Self-starter who can work independently, with a small team and with international partners based outside of Nigeria.
  • Digitally fluent across all social platforms
  • Experience and knowledge of data and analytics to inform decision making
  • Strong market and cultural knowledge with a passion for and an interest in social advocacy
  • Strong teamwork skills, comfortable in a highly collaborative, dynamic team culture
  • Positive and driven, curious and creative about learning new ways to approach branding and marketing with ‘outside of the box’ thinking for NSSF.
  • Proficient at managing and maximizing budgets and resources.
