Nomba – Launched in 2017 as “Kudi.ai”, a chatbot that responds to financial requests on social apps, nomba has since evolved to empower independent businesses to act as neighborhood banks offering basic financial services such as cash withdrawal, transfer and bill payments to all Nigerians, especially those in underserved communities. Today we process more than $500m in payments monthly.

With a vision to enable economic prosperity by supercharging businesses to run efficiently and meet their goals, nomba is making it easier for businesses to accept payments, make payments and manage their operations. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Recovery Manager

Location: Lekki, Lagos

About the Role
In this role, you will:

  • Work with the reconciliation and revenue assurance team to ensure accurate funds on paper equals real money in the bank.
  • Work with legal and operations  in recovering funds from customers
  • Work with the partnerships team in recovering funds from banks and corporate partners.
  • Create a check and balance process to reduce funds leakage across necessary departments.
  • Develop a process with products & engineering to make funds recovery process easier.
  • Gather enough insight for the short, mid and long-term goals of the company.
  • Constantly share strategies and reports of state of funds &  revenue across the company.
  • Ensure significant monthly progress on funds recovery.
  • Prepare appropriate reports clearly identifying issues and options for dealing with them.
  • Negotiate and maintain contractual relationships with vendors related to business recovery and resumption.
  • Monitor project against plan, and ensure corrective action when necessary
  • Provide feedback, coaching and mentoring to internal staff vendor representatives to improve audit results
  • Measure key people’s performance indicators against success measures to drive continuous improvement.

About You

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field.
  • Asset recovery/insolvency background.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Understanding of the banking process relating to customers and funds.
  • Should possess strong execution skills
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
  • Sound financial analytical skills and commercial awareness
  • A track record of following through on commitments.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience leading and developing top-performing teams.
  • A history of leading and supporting successful projects.
  • Experience working in a bank will be an added advantage.
