We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Consultant – Quality Control Assessment of Cowpea Processing Equipment

Locations: Lagos and Kano
Employment Type: Contract

General Clauses

  • Mercy Corps Nigeria (herein referred to as the EMPLOYER) is planning to engage the service of a consultant who will conduct a quality control assessment of cowpea processing equipment.
  • This scope of work is an integral part of the contract.
  • This document defines the requirements expected to be delivered by the contractor.
  • The Contractor will be responsible for himself which means no supervisor will scrutinize his work. As such, he is expected to use the opportunity of non-interference and his expertise to deliver quality service to the Mercy Corps.
  • Mercy Corps will provide the locations where the cowpea processors are of which he/she is expected to be on-site and make quality control assessments of this equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • B.Sc, B.Tech or HND in Food Technology, Agriculture, Engineering or any other related discipline with at least 7 years experience in cowpea processing equipment.
  • B.Sc or HND in any field of study with at least 10 years of experience in cowpea processing equipment

General Requirements:

  • The contractor shall be qualified who has been in the business or has been working as an expert of cowpea processing equipment with a registered company in Nigeria or willing to work in Nigeria.
  • He or she must possess strong technical knowledge of cowpea and food processing equipment: types of the machines, maintenance requirements, and how they are installed.
  • He or she must have knowledge of local communities and can travel to Lagos and Kano and any other location within Nigeria should the need arise.

Equipment and Materials:

  • The contractor shall provide all the tools required for his work

Deliverables of the Consultant:

  • Identify and ensure all the pieces of cowpea processing equipment being supplied are as per Purchase Order.
  • Ensure they meet the specific standards for food processing equipment.
  • The consultant may or shall be required to consult with the women cowpea processors to ensure consistency of their required machines and that being supplied by the XXX.

Method of Payment

  • Payment for the consultancy service will be made when all deliverables have been met by the consultant.
  • However, a separate payment for subsistence and other logistic cost incurred will be made upon showing evidence of payment.
