The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) is one of the eleven electricity distribution companies that emerged after the unbundling of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).The company is saddled with the primary responsibility of distributing and marketing electricity to end users within the five states in the South-East geo-political zone; namely: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo, with a total of 18 Business Districts offices across these states.

Job Title: Security Manager

Location: Corporate Headquarters, Enugu
Job Type: Full Time

Job Description

  • Reports directly to Head Security.
  • On the directives of Head Security, arranges, coordinates and supervises the duties and activities of Government armed security agents deployed to the company.
  • Ensures prompt payment of allowances due for armed security agents.
  • Collects, collates, scrutinizes and certifies the monthly bills of Outsourced Security companies for payment on the directives of the Head Security.
  • Promptly alerts the Police, Army and Civil Defence Operations Commanders whenever there is a threat of protest at the CHQ by some aggrieved customers.
  • Conducts routine checks on outsourced civil guards, collates and submits to Head Security monthly returns on Security/Audit joint check.
  • From time to time mobilizes and accompanies armed security agents to provide security back-up for EEDC disconnection teams.
  • Occasionally represents the Head Security on an official engagement.
  • Coordinates the security operations of Chief Security Officers at the Districts.
  • Ensures prompt reporting of criminal cases which occur either at Corporate Headquarters or Districts within Enugu metropolis to the Police and monitors Police investigation of the reported cases.
  • Coordinates and supervises the activities of outsourced civil guard companies and reports same to Head Security.

Qualifications

  • BSc / HND in any field
  • Not below the rank of a CSP or its equivalent
  • Below 60 years
  • Must be a retired officer from any government security agencies
  • Experience in people management.
