WACOT Rice Limited, a company under Tropical General Investments Group, is a rice processing company which operates a state-of-the-art rice mill in Argungu, Kebbi State, Nigeria. The mill is one of the largest rice mills in Africa and sources paddy from various paddy producing states across Nigeria. WACOT Rice also engages in out-grower farming programs with paddy farmers to boost their yields and guarantees off-take of paddy from farmers through buyback arrangements. The rice mill is based on a robust sustainability platform and the company produces two leading brands of parboiled rice – BIG BULL and PATRIOT.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: ETP & WTP In Charge

Location: Argungu, Kebbi ( Office / Field Based )

Reports to: Head, Engineering
Supervises: Shift Operators

Objective / Purpose of Job

• Safe operation of the ETP & WTP with designed output parameters. 100% provision of water to plant and 100% processing of water before discharge.

Job Duties / Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Safe shift operation of plants.
• Keep the equipment in safe condition.
• Periodic inspection, preventive, breakdown, planned and unplanned shutdown maintenance of Bore Wells, PSF and ACFs, IRFs, EO Membranes, Mixed Bed, Dosing Systems.
• Monthly run of fixed assets depreciation with the aim of fixed asset schedule preparation.
• Maintain documentation as per the QMS systems.
• Maintain minimum stock level of consumables and spares.
• Generate quality water from Bore Well and supply to plant, uninterrupted.
• Process waste water according to NESREA regulation before discharging from plant to the environment.
• Safe handling of chemicals and follow zero accident norms as per EHS plan.
• Training and development of team.

Reporting Relationships:

• Internally relate with Boiler, Parboiling and EHS
• Externally relate with NESREA, Federal Ministry of Environment, SON etc.
• Reports to: Head, Engineering
• Supervises: Shift Operators

Education / Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience & Other Requirements

• B.Eng in Chemical Engineering / BSc in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
• Knowledge of ETP, WTP, RO and DM plant and water chemistry of High Pressure Boiler.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good team-building/team development skills.
• Analytical and good computer skills.
• Good leadership skills.
• Must have a minimum of 5-7 years operating experience in ETP & WTP including liaison with NESREA.
