Job Description
- Opportunities exist for highly skilled and result-driven Machine Specialists- Packaging in our Gateway Plant reporting to the Maintenance Controller- Packaging.
- The successful incumbent will maintain, repair and optimize machines and associated devices to ensure machine availability and product quality at minimum cost whilst maintaining standards.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Provide specialist support to the shift-based teams during operations.
- Assist as a functional expert in problem-solving.
- This must be undertaken in support of the Process Artisan. This role can also be the Process Artisan on shift.
- Carry out routine maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule
- Where problems have been uncovered during routine maintenance, these must be resolved using the appropriate PS techniques
- Partake in cleaning, lubrication, and inspection in accordance with the maintenance schedule issued by the Maintenance Planner
- Carry out routine maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule

- Take part in maintenance planning meeting, contributing suggestions and clarifying work required.
- Carry out work during the planned maintenance outage in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule issued by the Main Planner.
- Partake in maintenance postmortems to feedback problems, opportunities and learnings from maintenance activities
- Partake in cleaning, lubrication and inspection in accordance with the maintenance schedule issued by the Maintenance Planner
Qualifications
- Min. of B.Sc / HND in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
- 1 – 3 Years on the job training

- Manage Machines according to VPO principles and standards
- Achievement Drive (improvement, do better than standard or what was done previously, be the best).
- Key Function is to Carry out repairs/maintenance
- Plan and prepare the job.
