Hobark International Limited (HIL) is the parent company of the Hobark group operating in the oil and gas industry. The company was incorporated in 1998, starting as a staffing agency based in Port Harcourt. Currently we have offices in 4 countries with our head office in Lagos.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Process Safety Coordinator
Location: Lagos / Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Type: Permanent/Full time
Responsibilities
- Ensure the compliance of established process safety standards and regulations within the asset for all including contractors and local contractors.
- Develop and implement processes of safety management programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international safety standards and regulations. E.g., OSHA, ISO 14001, etc.
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments, including HAZOP, HAZID, and other safety studies, to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Possession of relevant professional certification e.g., NEBOSH is highly desirable.
- Possess a minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in process safety management within the upstream oil & gas industry.
- Experience in the Niger Delta/Rivers region is essential.
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of process safety principles, methodologies, and industry standards, including OSHA PSM and API RP 752/753.
- Experience in conducting hazard identification and risk assessment, including HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL studies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with different levels of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
