The Elevate: Women’s Solar Installation Certification Course (WSICC) is a three-week training program aimed at providing technical/vocational skills to women interested in transitioning into or advancing in solar energy technical fields. Here are the details of the application process:

Objective: The program seeks to empower women in the energy sector by providing them with the necessary skills and certification to excel in solar energy installation and contribute to the renewable energy subsector.

Application Process:

  1. Segment 1 – Application Form:
    • Complete the application form accurately and submit it within five days of the launch of the application link or before 30 successful candidates are reached.
    • Provide accurate information and the contact details of at least one referee who can attest to your interest, commitment, and suitability for the training.
    • Click “Submit” at the end of the application form.
  2. Segment 2 – Competency Assessment:
    • After submitting the application form, you’ll be redirected to the submission acknowledgment page, where you’ll find the link to the competency assessment page.
    • Input your name and email address matching the information submitted in Segment 1.
    • Complete the competency assessment test within 20 minutes, ensuring to answer basic competency questions, including arithmetic and logical reasoning.

Target Audience:

  • Women in the energy sector seeking to transition into or advance in solar energy technical fields.
  • Women outside the energy sector interested in entering the sector and taking up technical roles in the renewable energy subsector.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum educational qualification: Senior School Certificate Exam (SSCE).
  • Ability to understand, read, speak, and write basic English.
  • Ability to solve basic arithmetic (Science/Engineering background or experience is an added advantage but not compulsory).
  • Basic computer skills/literacy to take computer-based examinations.

Eligibility:

  • Nigerian women available to attend a three-week training in Abuja from March 4 to March 22, 2024, from 9 am to 4 pm daily.
  • 18 years and above.
  • Employed or self-employed in the energy sector OR unemployed and interested in entering the energy sector.
  • Interested in learning and implementing new technical skills within the clean energy sector.

Deadline: February 19, 2024, at 12:00 pm WAT.
