About World Cinema Fund (WCF) Africa

Collaborating with the German Federal Foreign Office, the World Cinema Fund introduced a special funding initiative for projects originating from sub-Saharan Africa in 2016. Notably, all submissions to the World Cinema Fund (WCF) featuring projects from sub-Saharan Africa will automatically be considered for additional funding through the WCF Africa program.

The primary goal of the WCF is to bolster films in the designated regions by fostering active collaboration between producers and directors from these regions and their German counterparts. The involvement of German film companies is pivotal, both culturally and economically, in shaping the WCF’s structure.
