Lekki Freeport Terminal, part of the CMA-CGM Group, is the only Container Terminal Operator in Nigeria’s only deep seaport, namely Lekki Port.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Treasury Accountant

Location: Lagos

Position Summary

  • This position will report to the Head of Accounts and will be a crucial player in the month-end close, and monitoring cash flows.

Major Accountabilities

  • Ensure the efficient management of the company’s bank accounts.
  • Take care of the cash management system of the company and its payment mechanism.
  • Responsible for following up on financial proceedings, and ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Ensure the accounting system is up to date with all transactions.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts.
  • Ensure proper accounting leading to improvement in bookkeeping in line with Local & Group Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure the company’s banking operations; seeing to it that all funds are appropriately banked ensuring efficiency and returns.
  • Ensure conformity of the company’s bank account with IFRS.
  • Check and verify cash transactions; investigate and propose possible resolution for discrepancies.

Critical Success Factors:

  • Achieve and maintain all finance and terminal KPIs.
  • Project milestones related to Finance are achieved and have no delays.

Educational Qualification

  • B.Sc Degree in Accounting or a similar field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Treasury Accounting experience.

Skills and Abilities Required in Position:

  • Requires sufficient understanding of various accounting concepts to review and interpret accounting data.
  • Ability to work under pressure with constant change of priorities.
  • Ability to work with a team and make good decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Must have relevant experience with using MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Basic knowledge of the shipping industry and port business.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate across the organization.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks.
