Project Manager, Skills, Abuja-Nigeria

Role Purpose

We are looking to hire an experienced project professional to join our team as Project Manager, Skills based in our Abuja Nigeria Office. The role holder will be part of a team working to promote our Enterprise and Skills portfolio and also strengthen what is in existence at the British Council. The postholder should understand the skills development landscape in Nigeria and have knowledge of the social enterprise system in the Country.

The person will be required to manage project delivery of the British Councils Skills and Enterprise portfolio. This role will also manage the projects under the Enhancing Employability for Urban Youth Programme and the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan.

Main Accountabilities

·        Managing projects: Manage project activity to agreed contractual terms of reference, timelines, costs, targets and established performance indicators

·        Financial management: Responsible for project procurement in line with established corporate policies and guidelines

·        Manage Internal communications: Work with British Council Nigeria Marketing and Communications team to manage project communications for internal and external stakeholders.

·        Marketing and Communications Services: To develop, manage and execute the agreed communication strategy for these projects.

 

Requirements

·        At least 2 years programme management and delivery experience

·        Experience organising and managing events.

·        Demonstrated experience managing relationships with external clients, partners and stakeholders

 

Qualifications

·        Bachelors’ degree
