Job Title: Senior Finance Associate
Location: Nigeria
Scope of Role
- The finance department has grown from its initial internal accounting remit to a major function that supports all areas of the business, including assessing financial implications from various key strategic decisions and growth opportunities.
- As our senior finance associate, you will provide financial support on a broad range of financial activities including producing high quality financial reports, aggregating and analyzing financial information, working closely with regulatory partners to ensure timely remittances according to best practice standards across Bamboo Global and Bamboo Securities.

What You’ll be Doing
- Manages and prepares the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements which include generating financial reports from Bamboo’s accounting software (Quickbooks).
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliations and reviews to ensure that all Bamboo’s financial transactions are accurate, allowable and complete.
- Prepares and maintains the following schedules: Fixed Assets, Accounts receivable and Accounts payable.
- Consolidate financial statements in multiple currencies and jurisdictions.
- Calculates balance sheet translation reserve and asset valuations.
- Presents periodic financial reports and updates on the performance of entities to the management and board.
- Prepares rolling cash forecasts to ensure cash utilization is sufficiently tracked.
- Processes expense claims and maintains accurate and up-to-date records of expense reimbursements
- Prepares schedules for VAT and WHT filing in countries where we operatePrepares relevant Employee Income Tax schedules, Pension and other remittances across countries where we operate.
- Liaises with payroll administration partners in the countries of operation to ensure timely and accurate payroll run.
- Participate in the yearly budgeting session as well as quarterly re-forecasting. Coordinate with other finance and departmental leads across Bamboo.
- Consolidates and conducts budget reviews with the COO.
- Prepares monthly variance analysis comparing actual results with budgeted results and providing reasons for any differences.
- Collaborates with department leads to prepare monthly budget utilization reports by department.
You’ll be most Successful in this role if
- You have 4+ years experience working with capital market products or working in the banking and finance sector.
- You have a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CFA, ACA and experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- You have already been working in an international fast growing scale-up environment with ideally a focus on B2B & B2C financial services.
- You are highly analytical/data-driven and are comfortable dealing with high growth and complex business challenges.
- You have a “can do” attitude. Owning a problem doesn’t scare you, but rather empowers you to take 100% responsibility for achieving our mission.
