Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to the management team to drive the business towards profitable and sustainable growth
  • Lead the company-wide annual business planning and budgeting process
  • Report and make recommendations on the annual budget, short and mid-term plan to the Board of Directors
  • Liaise with the relevant industry, government and/or regulatory bodies while ensuring that the organization’s interests are presented and protected
  • Articulate and oversee the translation of high-level corporate strategies and growth plans into business and operational strategies
  • Create an enabling environment that empowers management and staff to develop the capability to achieve set goals and objectives and proactively respond to opportunities and challenges in the business environment
  • Prepare and present periodic business performance reports to the Board of Directors and make recommendations for improvement
  • Define the compliance benchmark standards for the organisation
  • Monitor the organisation’s performance to ensure effective implementation of the decisions of the Board of Directors
  • Manage the delivery of the organisation’s budget and execution of projects
  • Oversee the presentation of statutory reports and drive the implementation of recommendations arising from statutory reviews (e.g., audit, tax, risk etc.)
  • Shape the definition of sustainability and social responsibility within the organisation and leads the adoption of the appropriate culture to entrench sustainable and socially responsible practices
  • Evaluate and ensure that sustainability and social responsibility initiatives support the organisation’s strategy and meet industry requirements
  • Oversee the effective implementation of Health and Safety objectives

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum / Chemical Engineering, Geology, Geosciences or related discipline
  • Possess extensive hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of E&P activities including but not limited to drilling, production and gas operations and/or engineering knowledge
  • A postgraduate qualification, preferably an MBA or Relevant Master’s Degree
  • Minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience in the upstream Oil & Gas industry out of which 8 years must have been spent at an Executive or Senior management level
  • Professional membership of a relevant body or institution in the Oil & Gas industry.
