We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Factory Manager

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting to: COO
Supervises: Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers and Technical Supervisors

Job Summary

  • Responsible for plant operations to maximize efficiency and material yield with a set framework of quality standards at optimal manpower and material cost and meet the production volume targets at all times.
  • Responsible for the overall plant management in terms of operations, control, organizational structure and GMP.
  • Successful candidate will provide leadership for the entire Engineering Team.

Job Description

  • Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates the operations of the plant to produce the products and SKU’s needed by sales. Ensures that the daily volume targets are met by production.
  • Prepares the production schedule to ensure optimized production cost and reduced downtimes.Set daily production mix targets and agree shift arrangements with the Production Manager to meet the daily requirements of Sales.
  • Assists inthe implementation of the quality assurance programs of the company which includes environment related regulatory compliance and safety.
  • Dispenses advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with the established policies and top management approval.
  • Develops a system that will ensure optimal and efficient use of labor and resources such as labor productivity monitoring.
  • Implements and cooperates/coordinates with other departments with respect to new product launches and other market tests.
  • Ensures the training of employees on the use of the equipment and machineries in the productionlines.
  • Prepare Performance Appraisal reports for his direct reports and ensurethe same is done by his direct reports.
  • Carry out routine and periodic Maintenance of utilities to ensure seamless plant operation.
  • Reduce maintenance cost and develop local spares to minimize cost.
  • Devise a system to effectively control and manage waste and ensure it is implemented.
  • Coordinates closely with Managementon implementing new projects such as new lines and common facilities, rehabilitation of machines, overhauling projects, and new manufacturing plants, as per agreed timelines and costs.
  • Plans and implements the maintenance management system of the plant that will provide high reliability of operation of the machines. Prepares plant’s overhaul schedules without affecting production requirements.
  • Ensures harmony and coordination in all manufacturing activities of the plant. Maintains the operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing the project, operational, and personnel policies and procedures to all the personnel to instill discipline among employees.
  • Regularly reviews the operating results of the plant,compares them to the established objectives and agreed budget, and takes stepsto ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct and improve unsatisfactory results.
  • Plans and manages the plant’s operational budget. This includes the variable cost budget, fixed controllable cost and fixed non-controllable costs.
  • Prepare and implements action plans designed to achieve the set goals for the year as part of the plants annual manufacturing plan.

Qualifications
Education:

  • Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering from any reputable university.
  • Master’s Degree and relevant engineering and automation certification and training is an added advantage.

Work Experience:

  • 10 -15 years core hands on experience in independently handing a fully automatic Beverage production and packaging plant.

Technical requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of PLC circuits, Servo Drives, and should be able to lead a team of Engineers and technicians in solving complex Electrometrical problems on the plant and machinery.
  • Working knowledge of handling utilities like Generator, Boilers, Compressors, Chillers, Water Treatment Plant is a must.
