Job Title: Corporate Reporting Analyst

Job Purpose

  • The role is responsible for preparing periodic financial reports for both statutory and management purposes; and tax planning and reporting for all GSK entities.
  • The role also works with the Head, Corprorate Reporting to manage investor relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares financial statements under IFRS for all GSK reporting entities including unaudited quarterly reports for the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigerian Stock Exchange and other regulatory bodies
  • Ensures that financial data are timely and correctly entered into the system by conducting a monthly trial balance (TB) review; and communicating / implementing feedback and action from relevant process owners.
  • Prepares monthly statutory accounts for management review and monitoring.
  • Takes responsibility for the annual external audit process from inception to conclusion by managing the audit team, ensuring all schedules are obtained and shared after reconciling them to the TB.
  • Prepares performance results, operating expenses (OPEX) reports and industry comparative indexes for presentations to the Board, Board Finance Committee and Audit Committee.
  • Prepare and maintains entity / market cross charge between the GSK entities.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned accounts across the entities.
  • Prepares reconciliations between BISON reports and JDE general ledger numbers and follows up to ensure variances identified are corrected.
  • Coordinates the posting of statuory audit adjustments and ensures the General Ledger balances agrees with the Financial Statement.
  • Manages all expectations with respect to taxes and all statutory deductions and ensure timely remittance to the regulatory authorities in line with internally specified timelines.
  • Supports the collation of documentation for federal and tax audits.
  • Manages and tracks the different insurance schemes the entities subscribe to and ensure all claims, renewals etc. are done on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate Finance month end closure activities across the  GSK entities whilst ensuring adherence with specified timelines.

  • Requires good inter personal skill with all team members and other stakeholder is essential to guarantee a hitch free service delivery.
  • The art of structured communication with clarity cannot be separated from Corporate reporting, as there is need to deliver reports that is tailored to the audience, thus, making impact and meeting needs.
  • Membership of Professional Body –ICAN, ACCA, CITN etc.
  • Masters (MSc or MBA).
  • Strong ERP exposure.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS.
