Job Title: Architect Trainee
Location: Benin City, Edo
Details
- The successful candidates will be trained for 1 (One) year under the scheme.
- At the end of program, successful candidates will be offered permanent employment with the Edo State Government.
Job Description
- Engage in the design of buildings.
- Interface with sponsors, beneficiaries and allied professionals to determine project requirements and feasibilities.
- Prepare designs and specifications for public buildings.
- Inspect various new developments, projects or building/ facility conversion, upgrade or renovation with regards to achieving the Masterplan.
- Selecting and overseeing the various architectural firms or consultants contracted by the State to execute various aspects of the Masterplan.
- Review and approve designs prepared by private sector for onward development in alignment with the Masterplan.
- Educate the public periodically on various details of the Masterplan and the importance of keeping to it.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower) or HND (minimum of Lower Credit) in Architecture
- A Master’s Degree in Architecture and registration with ARCON is an added advantage.
- Evidence of NIA registration is an added advantage.
- Candidates must possess NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
- Candidates must be computer literate, with good interpersonal/leadership skills and ability to effectively work in teams.
- Applicants must be within the ages of 22-30.
- Experience in the use of CAD&GIS Tools will be added advantage.
