Working with various partners across sub-Saharan Africa, we improve livelihoods, enhance food and nutrition security, increase employment, and preserve natural resource integrity. IITA is a member of CGIAR, a global agriculture research partnership for a food secure future.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electrical Supervisor

Ref: IITA-P&C-NRS2023-025
Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Description

  • Repair and maintain electrical aspects, controls, and cables of 2X300 tons and 2X600 tons of Central A/C chillers.
  • Repair and maintain high-current control panels, condensers, and electric motors in the central chilling plant.
  • Repair and maintain cooling towers for condensers in the chilling plant.
  • Repair and maintain Air Handling units (AHU) and cold stores in major buildings.
  • Repair and maintain all electrical aspects of Gene-bank cold stores.
  • Read sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Monitor and update the inventory of spare parts.
  • Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements
Qualifications:

  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc. /HND in Mechanical Engineering or any other related field with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:

  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the chilling plant.
  • Have the ability to read engineering drawings in detail.
  • Have the ability to use basic Microsoft software.
