Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Contract
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in establishing requirements and undertake feasibility studies to ensure projects are feasible.
- Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time
- Advise on a procurement strategy
- Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
- Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
- Assist with the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect
- Assist with negotiation of contracts and work schedules
- Perform risk, value management and cost control during construction
- Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
Experience and Qualification
- B.Sc. or HND in Quantity Surveying
- Membership of Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a QS role
Competency and Skills Requirements:
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic knowledge of current building and construction procurement processes and technologies, sourcing of building materials.
- Strong numerate and Financial Management skills.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and multi-task to meet deadlines
Person Specification:
- Must be able to workand meet established timelines.
- Detailed, oriented and organized work habits.
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal supervision.
- Candidates should have excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to identify, resolve or escalate problemsin a timely manner.
Salary
N120,000 – N150,000 Monthly.
