We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: DevOps Engineer
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Job type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Automate processes in the software development value chain
- Utilizing development pipelines using Jenkins, Ansible, or other tools as appropriate.
- Working with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Scripting and automating system tasks to reduce manual repetitive work.
- Ensuring the appropriate transition of system changes into the production environments. (i.e. builds, approvals, release)
- Assist with the introduction of new technologies and related tools to grow our agile development environment
- Collaborate with developers to make sure new environments meet requirements and conform to best practices
- Ensure that code quality tools are run on all software prior to release.
- Continuous improvement of Software Delivery Life Cycle process
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related quantitative discipline at least a 2.1
- Must have 1-2-years of Software Development Experience (preferably in an enterprise environment).
- Must have 1-2-years DevOps Engineering Experience
Skills & Competencies:
- Working Knowledge of GitHub.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tooling (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- Experience with Windows Operating System and Linux
- Virtualization – VMware / Hyper-V
- Attention to details
- Working knowledge of Project Management tools and Documentation, preferably JIRA and Confluence
- Understanding of at least one core backend language between C# and Java as well as Node JS and JavaScript
- Expertise in working with Git, Ansible, Kong API Gateway and Jenkins
- Worked with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Proficient in scripting with Shell / Bash / Python •
- Exposure to working with web servers and load balancers
- Experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP, Nutanix)
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.
