Description
- Monitor CONTRACTOR’s Quality Assurance processes and ensure that the performance of all seismic and navigation equipment as the contract is optimal
- Review and monitor near field hydrophone and far field signature of the seismic source at the nominal operating depth (9 meters) and pressure (2000 psi), recorded through the production filter.
- Monitor CONTRACTOR’s drop out tables (listings of substitutes for clusters and/or individual guns in the source array)
- Review and monitor the plan of the survey area showing sail and node line numbering and shot point numbering protocol, coordinates of 3 D grid corners and orientation.
- Review and monitor the acquisition diagram for acquisition geometry, far-field signature and spectra and modeled radiation patterns, system response and accurate timing of the sequence of recording events.
- Check and monitor seismic energy source in terms of operating pressure, gun locations, gun depth and synchronization, average firing timing, source misfire and source parameters.
- Check and monitor OBN recording systems in clock synchronization, battery charge, acoustic modem, instrument noise level, data storage capacity and verification of serial number.
- Check and monitor nodes deployment procedures and ensure that node QC is carried out during recording and after recovery operation.
- Review and monitor OBN data quality, and enforce the acceptance criteria for Ocean Bottom Node seismic data based on Sections 5.4.10 and 5.4.11 of the Acquisition Contract.
Job Requirement
- Seismic consultant shall have relevant experience in the operation and supervision of ocean bottom nodes seismic data acquisition.
