EHA Clinics, a subsidiary of eHealth Africa, is a chain of clinics spread across Nigeria that provides innovative and technology-driven healthcare to the population. EHA Clinics currently boasts of three Clinics located in Abuja and Kano and is working to expand to other parts of Nigeria. EHA Clinics uses state of the art equipment to bridge the gap in the provision of high-quality diagnostics and healthcare through routine services (general consultations, laboratory investigations, pharmaceuticals, annual medical checks, child wellness checks, ultrasonography…etc) and specialized services (telemedicine, medical evacuation, home care, dental care, ophthalmology, and radiology).
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Sample Collector
Location: Abuja
Department: Operations
Division: EHA Clinics
Reports to: Manager, Operations
Duration: Six Months (with opportunities for extension)
Summary of Job
- The Sample Collector reports to the Operations Manager of the clinic.
- S/he will undertake all operational and clerical duties in line with her outline Job description and will be responsible for the smooth running of COVID-19 sample collection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, s/he must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
Administrative Duties:
- Triage of patients requiring COVID-19 tests.
- Creation of patient profile, adequate filling of triage information, and requesting lab tests on an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Creation of sample labels on sample bottles
- Collection of nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal samples for the COVID-19 test.
- Proper sample handling, cold chain management, and reporting to the laboratory on the number of samples collected.
- Ensuring sample collection logs are accurate and up to date.
- Adheres to the EHA Clinics Code of Conduct as well as ethical standards of the field.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Patient & Family Education / Support:
- Provide emotional support and measures to alleviate fear and anxiety.
- Participate in voluntary community health activities to promote, maintain, and restore health and prevent diseases.
- Adheres to Policies and Procedures.
- Adheres to the EHA Clinics Code of Conduct as well as ethical standards of the field.
Qualifications & Training
- A qualification from a school of health
- Ability to communicate appropriately in fluent English language
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Competent use of technology and work tools
- Basic Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control practices.
Work Experience:
- No prior experience required.

Desirable Requirements:
- Previous experience collecting COVID-19 samples
- Certification in Infection, Prevention and Control practices
- Previous use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems.
