Job Title: Commercial Finance Manager
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
Financials Forecast:
- Preparation of standard financial reporting package for the group
- Annual budgeting/forecasting
- Management of AnP budget in conjunction with the Marketing team
- Management of incentives budget in conjunction with the Sales team
- Management of sales team performance review
Commercial Analysis:
- Conduct regular analysis of penetration levels, retention, and re-order patterns, in key/strategic channels, versus prior year and goals
- Preparation of ad-hoc analytics and business cases to support brand-related commercial decisions (e.g. price changes, product/range extensions, etc)
- Tracking of internal and external trends, including summarization of topline insights, in support of general monthly updates and brand performance reviews
- Oversight of Net Sales & Net Net Sales month-end processes
- Delivery of high-level insights and commentary on financial and business drivers
Pricing and revenue margin management:
- Help set, monitor and govern brand pricing strategy with the marketing team
- Own quarterly pricing compliance checkpoints on behalf of NBV with the RGM team
- Identify and implement revenue optimization opportunities
- Management of value chains for margin analysis
- Cost/benefit analysis of incentive offerings
Skills required:
- Highly analytical, with the ability to use the power of facts to bring insight make clear finance recommendations and commercial decisions;
- Ability to confidently interact with non-finance departments, understanding their key requirements and tailoring financial data to satisfy these requirements;
- Strong influencing skills, proactive in challenging and influencing the business based on insight, knowledge and fact;
- Ability to understand market dynamics and be able to clearly articulate strategic priorities for the business from both a finance & commercial perspective;
- Ability to work under pressure and capable of managing numerous work streams simultaneously;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels;
- Strong accounting & reporting skills;
- Thorough approach with a high level of accuracy;
Person Specification
- Qualified Accountant
- Personable, with the ability to autonomously interact across the organization delivering a high level of customer service;
- Highly motivated;
- Previous experience required in a listed organization/MNC
- Accountable and takes responsibility for own outputs;
- Openness to growth and change combined with good relationship building and communication skills.
