Highest paying management jobs

  There are a number of different highest paying management jobs in a variety of fields, each with a unique set of responsibilities.  Many of the jobs included in the list of highest-paying jobs are in management jobs.

  If you are a strong team leader who enjoys overseeing large projects and making tough decisions, then you might be a perfect fit for a management position.  Since no management position is alike, so are management salaries.  Here are the ten highest-paying managerial jobs in America as of May 2016, according to the U.S. Department of Labor employment survey.

  If you are interested in elevating your career to a management role, there are many high-paying management jobs to consider.  When you understand the options available, it may be easier to decide which job you want to pursue.  In this article, we define the role of a manager and list the most highly paid manager’s jobs, including their primary duties and average salaries.

Who is a manager?

  A manager is the person responsible for the company’s operations and activities.  Their managerial role provides them with many responsibilities, including creating budgets, interviewing, coordinating employees across multiple departments, supervising a team of employees and planning their daily schedules.  They also hire new employees and provide guidance as needed.  The specific duties a manager undertakes depends on the industry he works in, the company he works for, and his particular location.

1.    Chief Executive Officer

  Chief Executives plan, coordinate and oversee the companies’ operational activities.  They work to ensure that their companies achieve their goals.  CEOs work in a variety of public and private sector industries.

  Although they earn, on average, the highest salary of all managerial positions, they also work extremely long hours and are primarily responsible for the success of their companies.  CEOs earn an average median salary of $ 194,350.  The highest 10% earn $ 208,000 or more while the lowest 10% earn $ 69,070 or less.

2.    Marketing managers

  Generally speaking, marketing managers create, report and implement marketing initiatives.  According to CareerBuilder, marketing managers control the communication between a company and customers.  They also manage internal messaging and media spreading teams across various channels while also working closely with the Sales, PR and Product Development teams.  The average annual salary for marketing managers is $ 145,620 or $ 70.01 an hour.

3.    Computer and information systems managers

  Computer and information systems managers, also known as information technology (IT) managers or information technology project managers, are responsible for establishing the IT goals of the organization.  They also implement computer systems to achieve goals.

  While some IT managers need a bachelor’s degree in computer or information science, many of them have graduate degrees.  The average annual salary was $ 149,730, or $ 71.99, an hour in 2017.

4.    Financial Manager

  Financial managers oversee the financial health of an organization.  They assist in setting long-term financial goals for their organization and implementing these plans through investment activities, financial reporting, and market trend analysis.  They usually work closely with other managers to make financial decisions for the company.

  Financial managers earn an average salary of $ 139,720.  The highest 10% earn $ 208,000 or more while the lowest 10% earn $ 65,000 or less.

5.    Human Resources Manager

  Workers play an integral role in every industry, and someone needs to recruit, train and communicate with these workers.  Human resource managers are the professionals who oversee the organization’s use of, and interaction with, employees.  They interview job candidates and hire the most qualified workers.  Human resource managers create strategies to make the best possible use of employee skills and ensure that these employees receive the training and tools necessary for success.  They resolve disputes between workers and handle disciplinary actions when necessary.

6.    Sales manager

  Sales managers direct the sales department or team in their organization.  They set sales goals and implement training programs and business strategies to improve employee sales records.  Sales managers earn an average salary of $ 135,090.  The highest 10% earn $ 208,000 or more while the lowest 10% earn $ 55,790 or less

7.    Natural Sciences Manager

  Natural science managers lead and supervise scientists, such as chemists, physicists, and biologists.  They also manage research and development and coordinate activities, including testing, quality control, and production.

  Usually these managers have a bachelor’s degree and work in offices.  However, some natural science managers may work in laboratories.  The average annual salary for natural science directors is $ 133,670, or $ 64.26 per hour.

8.    Public Relations / Fundraising Manager

  Public relations managers plan and raise funds and oversee programs that ensure a favorable public image for the business owner or client.  They also usually raise funds for the company.  Their work may include developing public relations programs and media releases, and developing and planning fundraising events and strategies.

  Public relations and fundraising managers earn an average average salary of $ 123,360.  The highest 10% earn $ 205,110 or more while the lowest 10% earn $ 59,070 or less.

9.    Management analysts

  Management analysts evaluate and determine the best means of restructuring organizations to maximize efficiency, investments and profits.  Management analysts are the ones who solve the business industry problems and create ways to help companies stay competitive.  Management analysts also provide specialist guidance to reduce costs, increase operations, and develop marketing plans.  A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration provides individuals with the precise knowledge needed to work as management analysts.  Management analysts apply for salaries from $ 54,890 to $ 99,700 annually.
