Call For Applications: NextEra Energy Investments (NEI) Seed Competition 2025 (up to a $1 million seed capital investment)
NextEra Energy Investments, LLC (NEI), an indirect and wholly owned subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc., is holding its second Seed Competition. Startups have the potential to receive up to a $1 million seed capital investment, with investment documentation terms to be negotiated between the potential winners and NEI.
The Seed Competition is designed to identify entrepreneurs who have innovative and emerging technologies within cybersecurity, data & AI, decarbonization and energy transition and who want to work with NextEra Energy and its subsidiaries to create a better tomorrow.

Eligibility
At minimum, applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:
- Pre-Series A
- Business plan with three-year forecasts
- Companies within the following categories:
- Cybersecurity
- Data Analytics & AI
- Decarbonization
- Energy Transition
Application Process
Companies that are interested in participating in the Seed Competition must upload to the application site a completed application which includes, but is not limited to, a pitch deck, business plan and executive summary using the link provided, which will redirect you to the Application Site. NEI will review submissions for technical merit, market potential, strategic alignment with NextEra Energy, and readiness of the product and team. NEI reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to accept or reject any application submitted for the Seed Competition.
NEI will review the Applications and select companies to present in the final stage of the competition in front of a panel of judges. The winning company or companies (as determined in NEI’s sole right and discretion) will be selected by the panel and notified by NEI.
