Job Title: Carpenter / Upholsterer
Location: Lagos
Role Description
- This is a full-time on-site role for a Carpenter and Upholstery professional located in Lagos,
- Nigeria.
- The Carpenter and Upholstery professional will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, such as cabinetry, joinery, upholstered furniture.
- Tasks also include cutting, sanding, and shaping wood, as well as adding padding and fabric to furniture.
- The role also involves measuring, cutting and sewing fabric to fit a variety of furniture styles and dimensions.
- The Upholster will also be responsible for repairing and restoring upholstered furniture and fixtures.
- The Carpenter and Upholstery professional will need to interpret blueprints and drawings, measure and mark cutting lines on materials, and advise on suitable types of wood for specific projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry and upholstery.
- Excellent knowledge of furniture parts and assembly, specialty finishes, and woodwork
- techniques.
- Experience with woodworking tools and equipment, including saws, drills, and sanders.
- Experience with auto upholstery or industrial sewing is a plus.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina and strength to carry, bend, and stand for long periods
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in vocational or trade carpentry or upholstery training is a plus
