We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Senior Mechatronics Engineer
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Responsibilities
- Designing industrial equipment such as automated manufacturing systems, or control systems used in the manufacturing industry
- Developing software for controls and other components of machines or systems
- Testing prototypes to ensure compliance with safety standards or functionality requirements
- Developing mechanical designs and models using computer aided design software (CAD) systems
- Developing maintenance schedules and procedures for machinery based on manufacturer recommendations
- Supporting the development of new products by working directly with designers, manufacturers, and other engineers involved in the project
- Preparing proposals, reports, and other documents related to projects
- Reviewing customer requests to determine feasibility of design solutions
- Performing calculations to determine load capacity, stress limits, and other engineering metrics
- Establish and execute Design Verification test plans for embedded control software
- Manage the organized release of official control software versions to meet program content and timing requirements
- Programming and installing finished equipment according to circuit diagrams and design drawings
- Create software for machine or system controllers and other parts.
- Test prototypes to make sure they adhere to functionality or safety standards.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) tools, create mechanical designs and models.
- Create machine maintenance schedules and methods following manufacturer instructions.
- Work with Body Exterior engineers to identify and develop new hardware concepts and control strategies to support feature development
- Carry out to completion specific projects assigned by the Project Director
- Design a low-cost Automation System using microcontroller/PLC and Open-source Programming
- Responsible for design of electrical circuits conducting electrical circuit simulations and electromagnetic simulations
- Define electrical requirements and select appropriate technology for electrical devices
- Work with electrical distribution team to optimize integration
- Assembling mechanical, electrical and electronic components to make complex mechatronic systems
- Plus, any additional jobs assigned daily
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics and Mechanical or Computer Engineering.
- Extensive experience working on engineering projects.
- Ability to make decisions in high-stress situations.
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity and a growth mindset.
- Minimum of 20 years experience in industrial Engineering preferably in manufacturing company
- Relevant certifications, registrations, and licenses and AutoCAD knowledge (will be an advantage)
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of different control technologies
- Superb creativity, vision, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and self-confidence.
